Privacy & Confidentiality Policy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist and the information shared with the therapist during our sessions cannot be disclosed without written permission.

EXCEPTIONS:

Suspected child abuse, dependent adult or elder abuse: I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person or persons, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

If a client intends to harm themselves, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation to ensure their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me under the law of the state in order to ensure their safety.

History of Five Points

Founded in the 1880s, Five Points became known as an affluent African American community, with one of the city's first streetcar lines, it experienced rapid business development. It also became known for its strong Jazz scene.
